TOUR IN KITKA MOUNTAIN (SLAVYANKA)

Route: Petrovo – Goleshovo – Momina Polyana (Maiden’s Glade)

Transfer from Sandanski to the village of Petrovo (500 м asl) situated at the foothills of Slavyanka Mountain. We start our strenuous ride up to the village of Goleshovo (1135 м asl). Then, we continue to Momina Polyana, don’t forget your camaras, we are in the Balkan Green Belt, part of the European Green Belt.

NOBODY’S LAND

Route: Gorno Spanchevo – Beliovo – Hrasna – Kalimantsi – Katuntsi

Transfer from Sandanski to the village of Gorno Spanchevo (340 м asl) – the western part of South Pirin. We are in the Kliona boarder are dividing Bulgaria and Greece – a 10 kilometer-long narrow strip. It is an ecological paradice that in the past separated the worlds of socialism and capitalism. We ride up to the village of Beliovo (700 м asl) and head towards the village of Hrasna (530 м asl). Then we discend to the village of Kalimantsi (200 м asl). The finish and lunch are at the village of Katuntsi.

ONE-DAY ROUTES AROUND MELNIK

LAND OF PHENOMENA

Distance: ~ 20 км 

Route: Melnik – Rozhen Monastery – Zlatolist – Katuntsi

Transfer from Sandanski to Melnik (400 м asl). We are surrounded by whimsical rock pyramids and we start our outrageous ascend to the Rozhen Monastery (700 м asl) – the religious center of the Pirin region, lunch. We head towards St. George church – clairvoyant Stoyna’s home (forerunner of clairvoyant Vanga) in the village of Zlatolist (376 м asl). We continue to the village of Katuntsi (160 м asl).

Route: Rozhen – Lyubovishte – Kashina

Transfer from Sandanski to the vilage of Rozhen – 600 м asl (Rozhen Monastery). We head to the village of Lyubovishte (550 м asl) and go inside a tunel, which is dug into a rock pyramid. We continue to the village of Kashina (600 м asl) and Skoko waterfall (19 м) where we can gain back our strength.

BACK IN TIME

Route: Karlanovo – Sugarevo – Pirin

Transfer from Sandanski to the village of Karlanovo (530 м asl). Here, we are at the beginning of the famous wine road, which in medieval times connected Melnik and Bansko. Don’t forget your camaras – we start at the foothills of three famous rock pyramids – the Little, Middle and Big Breg (coast). We ascend to the village of Sugarevo (750 м asl) and continue to the village of Pirin (680 м asl), where we can have home-made lunch in the house of the famous folk singer – Lyubimka Bisserova.
